MRCB executive vice-president Datuk Ishak Mohamed said the event, which was organised by the MRCB Foundation, was meant to celebrate and bring joy to the underprivileged ahead of Aidilfitri.

“This event gives an opportunity to underprivileged groups including orphans, special needs children, and single mothers in Selangor to experience the breaking of fast together with His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, as well as with leaders and agencies during this Ramadan.

“This evening, the MRCB Foundation has also distributed financial aid to 500 people in need.”

Ishak said the aid recipients comprised 300 people who include the poor, single mothers from the Persatuan Rumah Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim and Ibu Tunggal Hajah Kamariah, as well as Muslims converts.

Another 200 recipients are orphans who received cash donations.

He said the aid will enable these groups to prepare and celebrate Aidilfitri joyously.

“It is the hope that the MRCB Foundation can ease the burden of the recipients as well as give them a sense of joy,” Ishak said.

Also present were Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Chairman Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din.
