KUALA LUMPUR – The Telok Datok magistrates’ court has rejected the request for part-time model A. Tamilselvi, 26, to undergo a mental health exam at a psychiatric hospital, after she was charged for murdering her boyfriend.

Defence lawyer Ethan Tan told magistrate Maslinda Selamat that Tamilselvi had bipolar disorder and a heart condition with the need for a device to regulate her heartbeat.

However, deputy public prosecutor Khadijah Amir Hamzah argued that the defence did not submit documents about the medical condition and bipolar disorder, reported the New Straits Times.

Following this, Maslinda ordered the defence to submit the relevant documents by April 25 when the case is brought up for mention.

Meanwhile, there was no plea recorded as the case falls under the high court.

Tamilselvi was accused of killing V. Gawsigan, 26, at a house in Jalan Flora 3D/6, in Teluk Panglima Garang, on March 11.

The bloody incident was caught on video, which went viral, where the victim could be seen writhing in pain on the blood-spattered floor after being stabbed on his left wrist and left leg.

Kuala Langat police chief Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor @ Saleh said authorities received a report from a doctor at Cyberjaya Hospital about the victim on the morning of March 12.

He said the case was believed to be motivated by jealousy, as the victim was allegedly unfaithful to his partner.

The victim was found with stab wounds to his left wrist and leg, resulting in massive blood loss. – March 22, 2024
